I am a woman who gave up a child for adoption conceived in a rape in 1977 when I was just a teen. I personally do not understand why rape is an exception. God brought me through a very painful situation in which I chose life and He has healed and comforted me. I have knowledge the now grown child is a beloved daughter, friend, wife, mother of her own two children and Christian who is aware of her background and very grateful to have her life. I just could not take her life through abortion and went through a lot to protect her and carry her to term. Her family has thanked me and loves me. There are those who have judged me harshly, but I get my security from God not them. I know I did the right thing, His will for me and my child. All my pain and suffering taught me compassion and the meaning of true happiness and joy in obedience to Him. Offering agape love, support and encouragement to pregnant rape survivors would make a huge difference in their choice.
